Set of 12 Japanese sosaku hanga woodblock printed cards with envelopes in the original box by Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997) dating from the 1950’s. Each card measures 4 5/8” x 3 ½.” The design of each represents a full-sized Saito woodblock print from the period, includes a printed “Saito” in black ink on the front, and is titled and numbered on the back. Designs include: Haniwa, Steady Gaze (2), Winter in Aizu (2), Temple of Moss, At an Indian Village New Mexico, Nara, Siamese Cats, Lion Head Japanese Carving, Poppies, and Profile. Very good overall condition.The box has a tiny tear at the edge and very slight warpage and discoloration. The envelopes are wrapped together and the exposed envelope is faintly soiled on the back.
