Jar. Provenance: (Southeast) China, Swatow. Dating: The end of the 16th century / first half 17th century. Jar on a flat, unglazed, base decorated in underglaze blue. On the waist decorated with two medallions containing a fish leaping out the sea separated by a concentric waves pattern. The shoulder is decorated with a band of lotus leaves and on the lip rim a double circle.
Dimensions: Height: 41 mm (1.61 inch), Diameter: 61 mm (2.40 inch), Diameter of footring: 40 mm (1.57 inch), Diameter of mouth: 21 mm (0.82 inch).
