n the mid 15th century a freighting junk loaded with fine Vietnamese pottery sank in an area of the South China Sea called the “Dragon’s Embrace.” Around 1994 local fishermen began finding pottery in their nets. In the mid 15th C a freighting junk loaded with fine Vietnamese pottery sank in an area of the South China Sea called the “Dragon’s Embrace.” Around 1994 local fishermen began finding pottery in their nets. This is a beautiful little round porcelain box from the now famous Hoi An shipwreck. This one is roughly 6.3 cm in diameter. It has little sea creatures still stuck to the underside - visible in the last enlargement.
