This is a collection of bronze (and some bone) arrow points from ancient China. Most of the bronze points will date to either the Warring States or Han periods (475 BC - 220 AD). The bone points are possibly as old as neolithic (pre 1700 BC). There were too many of these to list individually so I posted the entire collection. Email for specific prices. Pieces can be sold individually, in lots, or as a complete collection.

I have too many bronze arrowheads to post separately so here is another group. These are all from China and date from as early as the Western Zhou (circa 700 BC) to as late as the Han period (circa 200 BC). Each of these is a great specimen for collecting, for study, or both. Inquire for individual prices. I will certainly sell them as a group at a discount - just email me with offers or requests.

This offering is a pair of bronze daggers from the ancient Ba culture. They date to the Warring States period (475-221 BC). The Ba people are thought to have inhabited the vast area which today encompasses southern Shaanxi, Hubei and eastern Sichuan provinces and Chongqing Municipality. Depending on sources, the Ba are thought to have existed as a unique culture from as early as the Spring and Autumn period (770 BC) to the end of the Warring States period (221 BC). They were famous for their b...

This is an absolutely amazing bronze sword from the Dong Son culture in ancient Southeast Asia. Pieces of this type are rarely discovered intact. It is very long (81.5 cm) and though it is thin and fragile it appears to be intact with no obvious signs of repair. It dates to roughly 300 BC. This is a marvelous opportunity to own a truly stunning antiquity.

This is a pair of ancient Chinese bronze cheek pieces from a horse harness. They are strikingly similar to ones excavated in Fufeng County, Shaanxi Province, and currently on display at the Shaanxi Provincial Zhouyan Museum. Cheek pieces such as these are generally attributed to the Western Zhou Dynasty (1100-771 BC). The pieces are decorated with simple linear decorations. The circular holes in the center are where the now-missing mouthpiece would have been attached. (see “Imperial China T...

This pair of Zhun is nearly identical in form and size to ones found in Houma, Shanxi province in north China. It is most likely from the late Spring & Autumn period (770-476 BC) in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty which is also sometimes referred to as Zhou III. Both visual and microscopic inspection reveals a dark base metal covered in parts with a patina consisting primarily of cuprite and malachite. The patina is consistent with the period and environment in the region where similar items have been...

Just released from my personal collection is this fantastic set of three pieces that date circa ancient China's Western Zhou period; a decorated bronze dagger axe with and accompanying horse bridle fitting decorated with coiled snakes, and a bird finial. All three pieces were purportedly uncovered together. The bridle fitting was partially cleaned to reveal the magnificent coiled snake decor. The bird finial appears to have originally been inlaid but the material is now gone. The dagger axe...

This is a beautifully decorated bronze socketed spear point from Sichuan Province. It is most likely from the Ba or Ba-Shu minority culture that flourished in that area. The style and decor are reminiscent of the Shang period but as was often the case with minority culture pieces, this probably dates to a few centuries later. It's delicate attachment loops on either side are still intact and there are no signs of repair. It has a central reinforcing rib and decorations on two surfaces that shoul...

This is an amazing copper alloy spear head from ancient China - likely dating to the late Zhou dynasty. It was excavated in what is now the Sichuan province and I believe it to be from the Ba or Ba-Shu culture. Liewen, tao-tie and other decorations are incised into the socket area on both sides. The socket extends almost to the tip of the spear and has remnants of the wooden shaft inside. The delicate attachment loops are still intact. There are no signs of repair or restoration to this fabulou...

This is a copper alloy dagger or short sword. It has an interesting patina consisting primarily of light to medium green tones (likely malachite) mottled with red and reddish brown areas (likely copper oxides). There are areas where the deep brown, lightly corroded base metal is still visible and somewhat lustrous. The entire hilt, including the crescent-shaped pommel, is bordered by a thick and even ridge which would have served to contain the grip scales made of bone, wood, or ivory. The sca...
