This is a pottery vessel originating in the Han Dynasty of ancient China (206 BCE to 220 CE). Vessels such as these were often used as wine containers. This piece his beautifully sculpted and has great colors. There is a repair two the foot of the jar. There are also small chips and abrasions throughout and possible areas of professional restoration. It measures 29 cm in heights and 32 cm in width.

This is a fine example of an Indus Valley culture decorated pottery vessel. It has a chip to the rim as well as a repair which should be visible in the photos. Otherwise it appears to be in great condition with no other apparent damage or repair. It is roughly 16 cm tall and 13 cm wide.

This large and heavy copper alloy axe is from the ancient culture(s) of Northern Iran. The convex cutting edges are perpendicular to each other. It has a vertical shaft hole with a collar/ridge around the bottom. There are some obvious chips to the vertical cutting blade but it is otherwise very solid, stable and complete. Axes such as this one were in use from the late third millennium BCE throughout the second millennium BCE. The larger size indicates a date later in that timeframe...

This is a nice copper or copper alloy axe from Northern Iran. It dates to roughly the end of the third millennium BCE. Similar examples can be seen in P.R.S. Moorey Catalog of Ancient Persian Bronzes in the Ashmolean Museum pp 41-43. Axes of this type are commonly attributed either to the broad classification of Luristan or to the Elamite culture. This is a beautiful and rare copper alloy dagger from the Dong Son culture of southeast Asia circa 250 BCE. It has an attractive patina that belies its high tin content alloy. The edges of the blade are chipped as is common for the brittle nature of high tin content bronze objects. The remaining metal appears to be solid and stable with no signs of repair or restoration. The hollow portion of the perforated handle is filled with either soil or wood remains (or both)...

This is a bangle or disc made from what I believe to be calcite. I am listing this and several other items that were part of the Chad Herrington collection. Most, if not all, the items from this collection were auctioned off a few years ago. Mr Herrington attributed these objects to roughly 1000-700 BCE to minority cultures in southeast Asia. Here we have an incredible example of an ancient iron sword from Northern Iran, possibly Amlash, circa 900 BCE. It has a saddle-shaped pommel with extensive geometric decor on the hilt. The iron blade, though deteriorated, is still intact. The slender and elegant weapon has survived millennia just to be in your collection. There is a crack near the guard area visible in the photos. This is an ancient bronze dagger from the middle east, possibly Egypt. The apparent high-copper content of the alloy and the general design put it prior to 1200 BCE.Bronze weapons were not made in ancient Egypt until after 2000 BC near the end of the Old Kingdom. This is a fantastic, ancient bronze spear or dagger attribute to the Marlik Culture circa 1200-900 BCE. It has a beautiful leaf-shaped blade with strong midrib. The tang has the classic 90 degree bend with knob on the end still intact. It measures nearly 25 cm in length and weighs 192 grams. It has a fantastic and lively patina. The metal is strong and stable. There are no signs of repair or restoration. This piece is from the collection of the late John Piscopo.

This specimen is a large bronze dagger or spear from ancient Lebanon. I do not have a specific cultural attribution for it as of yet but often these types get the blanket classification of Luristan. It may also be Marlik. There are some losses to the blade edges but the rest of the piece appears solid and stable with no signs of repair or restoration. It measures right at 32 cm in length and weighs 213 grams.The blade is over a cm thick near the center and a half cm at the tip.

This is a copper alloy dagger or short sword. It has an interesting patina consisting primarily of light to medium green tones (likely malachite) mottled with red and reddish brown areas (likely copper oxides). There are areas where the deep brown, lightly corroded base metal is still visible and somewhat lustrous. The entire hilt, including the crescent-shaped pommel, is bordered by a thick and even ridge which would have served to contain the grip scales made of bone, wood, or ivory...

This piece is a fantastic specimen of Southeast Asian art from the 12-13th century Khmer culture. It was cleaned several years ago by the previous owner but does retain some of its original patina. It appears to have been crafted in two pieces and is cast from either a copper or possibly a silver alloy - though I have not had it tested. It is just under 19 cm tall and weighs 335 grams.

This is a beautifully decorated bronze socketed spear point from Sichuan Province. It is most likely from the Ba or Ba-Shu minority culture that flourished in that area. The style and decor are reminiscent of the Shang period but as was often the case with minority culture pieces, this probably dates to a few centuries later. Just released from my personal collection is this fantastic set of three pieces that date circa ancient China's Western Zhou period; a decorated bronze dagger axe with and accompanying horse bridle fitting decorated with coiled snakes, and a bird finial. All three pieces were purportedly uncovered together. The bridle fitting was partially cleaned to reveal the magnificent coiled snake decor. This is a magnificent little pedestal bowl from ancient Korea. It dates to the Silla period(57 BCE-935 CE). The body is conical with rectangular perforations common to the era. The lid has been restored from 3 large fragments. Beautiful Korean antiquities are quite scarce so don't miss this fantastic find. It measures about 20 cm in height.

This amazing piece is a decorated from horse bridle or strap link. It was part of a lot of antiquities from the Arthur M Sackler collection auctioned through Christies in New York. The original auction tags will accompany the piece. The Sackler catalog number is painted on the reverse of the piece. It is fully decorated with stylized animal motifs characteristic of the Western Zhou period of ancient China (ca 700 BCE). This is a well provenanced antiquity that is sure to be an investment.
