Fischer was born in Munich Germany, and came to NY in 1903; he died in Woodstock NY. He studied at the Academie Julien, Paris, 1906-1908. He exhibited in many museums, including the Brandywine River Museum, in PA.

George Philbert Charles Maroniez, French (1865-1933). Oil on Canvas; "Surf". Signed G Maroniez, Lower Right. Gilt frame. Dimensions; 18" x 15"; site 10" x 8". Excellent condition. George Maroniez was a member of the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1889, and started exhibiting there when he was just 22. He won several awards and was made Knight of the Legion of Honor.
