Dramatic 970 sterling silver turquoise and moss agate necklace designed and signed (c.1940's) by Taxco, Mexico artist ANTONIO PINEDA. Necklace measures 17 inches of wearable length. The articulated 3 7/8" long drop is comprised of 6 bezel set oval turquoise stones and 5 carved and bezel set moss agate rectangles. Beautiful condition to silver and stones. No chips cracks or repairs. This design is pictured in SILVER SEDUCTION THE ART OF MEXICAN MODERNIST ANTONIO PINEDA by Stromberg p.110. The book accompanies the current Antonio museum exhibit of the same title. The necklace carries both Antonio's marks as well as Los Castillo coop marks. The combination of marks are shown on p.140 of Bille Hougart's THE LITTLE BOOK OF MEXICAN SILVER TRADE HALLMARKS. Insured shipping included within the U.S.
