Stunningly beautiful, this rare vintage sterling silver and amethyst necklace was designed and signed circa 1943-48 by Taxco, Mexico silver Maestro Hector Aguilar. The necklace is 1 inch wide and measures 14 1/2 wearable inches long. 186 grams, 6.06oz. Each of the 8 rectangular amethyst stones are hand carved into half moon shapes and bezel set into sterling frames. Both stones and silver are in gorgeous original condition. This Aguilar design is pictured on pages 40 and 104 of SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill. Signed on the tight and secure amethyst clasp the pre-eagle HA STERLING MADE IN MEXICO hallmark is referred to as letter "F" and shown on page 12 of the same book.
