Vintage 970 sterling silver necklace designed and signed c. 1950's by Taxco, Mexico modernist artist Antonio Pineda (1919-2009). Measures 15 wearable inches long, 1/2" wide. 125 grams, 4.4oz. Beautiful condition with no dents or dings. Slide in clasp is tight and secure. Signed on reverse with Antonio's trademark crown framing ANTONIO TAXCO. This design is pictured on p. 146 of the first edition of MEXICAN SILVER by Penny Morrill & Carole Berk. Antonio designs are featured in the permanent 20th Century Mexican Silver collection in the Latin American wing of Los Angeles County Museum of Art - LACMA.
