Gorgeous, intricately carved sterling silver and black obsidian bracelet designed and signed circa 1950's by Taxco, Mexico modernist designer Antonio Pineda (1919-2009). The bracelet measures 1 1/2" wide and will comfortably fit a wrist up to 6 1/2". Clasp hallmarked with Antonio crown, eagle 17 and pattern # zz648. Beautiful vintage condition. Crescent shaped stones have no chips or cracks. Clasp with safety chain is tight and secure. This bracelet design was exhibited in the museum exhibit SILVER SEDUCTION: THE ART OF MODERNIST ATONIO PINEDA and is pictured in that book on p. 131. Antonio designs are included in LACMA's permanent 20th Century Mexican silver collection.
