This chunky sterling silver bracelet was designed & signed circa 1950's by Taxco, Mexico modernist Antonio Pineda (1919-2009). The bracelet will fit up to a 6 1/2" wrist comfortably. This example is the larger version of the design measuring 1 1/4" wide. It weighs a hefty 135 grams, or 4.8 oz. Beautiful condition and patina. Slide in box clasp and safety chain are tight and secure. Pictured on page 125 of SILVER SEDUCTION: THE ART OF MEXICAN MODERNIST ANTONIO PINEDA where it states that this design was gifted to the Fowler Museum in L.A. Antonio's designs are part of the permanent 20th Century Mexican silver collection at LACMA. The collection can be seen on the museums website.
