By framing 26 "floating" moonstones with hand cut panels of 970 sterling silver Taxco, Mexico modernist Antonio Pineda makes an exceptional & exquisite statement. This vintage c. 1950's necklace measures 17" long X 1" wide. It weighs 202 grams. Fully hallmarked by Antonio on the tight & secure clasp. The soft patina of 970 silver reflects beautifully into the oval cut stones. Both stones & silver are in excellent condition. For safety we've had the necklace professionally restrung on sterling chain as the original chain really showed 70 something years of wear. This Antonio design with 13 stones is pictured on p. 160 of SILVER SEDUCTION: THE ART OF MEXICAN MODERNIST ANTONIO PINEDA. Antonio designs are featured in many prominent permanent museum collections including LACMA.
