Signed and numbered 25/35, this unframed limited edition lithograph by Spratling titled MAGUEY was produced in 1931 from his original drawing for his book LITTLE MEXICO. The lithograph measures 16" X 11.5". The landscape image is about 12" X 8". This is one of 7 lithographs we purchased from Weyhe Gallery in NY in 1995. The gallery had a long time relationship with Spratling dating back to his very early days in Taxco. The lithograph is in beautiful condition. Several museums have Spratling lithographs in there permanent collections. Spratling (1900-67)is world renowned for his artistic jewelry and hollowware designs in sterling silver and gold. No. 14/35 of this Spratling lithograph is in The National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. collection.
