Hand hammered sterling silver tray designed and signed (c.1940's) by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). Tray measures 9 3/4" X 8 3/4". Tray lip is 1 1/2" wide, depth 1/2". Heavy piece at 364 grams, 12.8oz. Fully marked with 1940-46 hallmarks. Hallmarks pictured in WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE by Penny Morrill.
