Description:

A burlwood brush pot was preserved in very good condition.
In strong and sturdy form, the brush pot was hollowed from a burlwood trunk and was preserved with enduring old patina.
There're the greasy amber-like condition happened to the edge of the mouth rim. And the extensive crackles were yielded on the carbonized surface of the mouth rim and on the upper portion of the inner side.
They were strong evidences to judge the age of a brush pot, from the inner side rather than the outer surface.
It was an original piece in intact condition. One old crack was found on the side, the lower portion.

Date: Early Qing periods, 16th/17th century.
