Description: A 12th-13th century sandstone Buddha's head was from Khmer(Cambodia). With well carvings, the facial expression was serene in smiling joy which exemplify the Buddha's grand kindness. In Bayon style, the piece would originally have been part of a much larger Buddhamuchalinda. While the patina on the surface was in light brownish, this head piece was kept in very good condition except some old chips on the lower part of the left side of the cheek. Date: 12th-13th Century. Provenance: Khmer Height: 27cm (including stand)
