A well crafted, highly detailed sterling silver insect brooch with opals on the wings, a chrysoprase body and onyx eyes. Measures 1 7/8" long and 1 5/8" at the widest. Marked on the underside with a conjoined 'SJ' or 'JS' logo and 925 for sterling. Has an earlier 'C' clasp which holds securely. Included is the original box with the same hallmark. A modernist sterling silver brooch by Johannan Peter who with surrealist Jean Arp and Marcel Janco was one of the artisans that started the Ein-Hod Artist Colony in Israel in 1953.

Two layers of sterling, the bottom has a beveled edge on two sides. The top is a three dimensional flower with leaves.

Marked Made in Israel, ST, 925, 'PH'. Earlier style 'C' clasp which holds securely. Has some minor surface scratches and tarnish. Measures 1 1/2" square.

A vintage heavy sterling brooch depicting a gnarled branch by the noted Maine Silversmith, Condon Kuhl. There is also a sterling pendant in the shape of a Ginko leaf by the same artist. The pendant can be hooked onto the branch and worn together.

A butterfly brooch in Sterling Silver with Turquoise and Amethyst by Matilde Poulat.

Measures 1 5/8" across and 2 1/4" tall. Marked MATL, Mexico, 925 and Eagle #129. Also marked MATL Mexico 925 and Salas.

Amethyst stone is faceted. Has a rollover safety clasp that holds tightly. You can see a little bit of the impression of the mark from the back through the top of the front. Has a little tarnish.

Fine condition. Classic MATL design.

A vintage modernist hand made brooch made of lightly hammered brass adorned with trade beads of various materials, sizes, shapes and textures. Very similar in design to the Fibula brooches of Ramona Solberg, a modernist jeweler whose items were made with 'Found Objects'.

Measures about 5 1/4" long and 2 1/2" at the widest. Hook closure holds securely. Can be worn with the beads up or down.

A wonderfully crafted brooch of 18K & 24K gold with a central carved piece of coral by Miyé Matsukata who had Atelier Janiyé in Boston.

This brooch measures 2 7/8" long and 1 1/4" high. Marked Janiyé,18K and 24K on the back. The coral is held in place with four delicate prongs. Has a rollover safety clasp that holds securely. Beautiful condition, coral is a deep salmon color with glimmers of cream.

A vintage bronze brooch or pendant with a nude figure around a brown swirled agate.

Has 'fingers' which hold the stone in place. Measures 3" long and 1 1/2" across. Has a secure rollover clasp and also a small bale so could be worn either as a brooch or on a chain. Can be worn up and down or sideways as a brooch. The bale is behind the figure's knee so the figure would be crawling down when worn on a chain.

Well constructed, interesting design.

A vintage sterling silver brooch attributed to the American modernist jeweler, Ronald Hayes Pearson. It is signed Sterling and something else which is impossible to read. It is in the style and has the quality of a Pearson brooch. Heavy sterling silver in the shape of an abstract snake.

A sterling silver modernist brooch by Helen Scheier Adelman, (1909-1999), American Mid Century jeweler. This brooch depicts two antelope in thick polished sterling with a darker bumpy surface enamel background.

Measures 1 3/8" tall and 1 1/8" at the widest. Signed Adelman and Sterling on the back. Nice contrast between the darkened rough and shiny layers. Rollover clasp holds securely. Has some minor surface scratches.
