An important, rare modernist brooch by the renowned African American jeweler, Art Smith. Has a copper ball caged in swirled brass coils. The ball moves for an interesting effect.

Measures 3 1/4" long and 2 3/8" at the widest. Marked with the 'Art Smith' script signature. Has a secure rollover clasp. In fine condition with areas of tarnish.

A wonderful example of Mid Century Modernist design.

A vintage modernist brooch with a whimsical three dimensional Man in the Moon face in copper.

Measures 1" at the widest and 2 3/4" high. Made of oxidized copper with overlays for the eyes, nose and mouth. Rollover clasp holds securely.

Would work on a lapel or even suspended from a chain. Fine condition. Well constructed.

A vintage large sterling silver and pearl Mid Century Modernist brooch in the style of Betty Cooke or Ed Wiener. Consists of three boomerang shaped pieces of thick sterling, tapering at the ends. Measures 3 1/2" across and 3" high. Has a rollover safety clasp that holds securely. Has some minor surface scratches and a little tarnish. Well made with a stunning design. Great studio piece.

A well crafted sterling silver brooch signed Sterling Handwrought and The Gorham Co. Probably executed by the Chicago silversmith Bjarne Meyer. Beautifully hand hammered silver. Bjarne Meyer did work for Gorham and also worked for Georg Jensen, USA. Measures 1 5/8" across. Has a three dimensional repousse design, possibly a stylized feather or apple. Dark patina, has some tarnish. Fine example of Arts and Crafts silver work.

A vintage modernist brooch by noted African American mid century jeweler, Winifred Mason Chenet in copper with 5 dangles. This rare and early brooch was done when she just signed her work Mason, prior to adding the Chenet d'Haiti in the early 1950s.

Measures 2 1/8" across and 3" high including the dangles. Made of oxidized copper with raised graduated bumps. The balls and chains are brass and the hooks connecting the balls are copper for an interesting contrast.

A vintage sterling silver and enamel brooch by Margot de Taxco, (Margot Van Voorhies Carr). Blue confetti enamel in her classic swirl design #5384.

The brooch measures 1 1/2" high and almost 1 1/2" at the widest. Marked Made in Mexico Sterling, Margot de Taxco and 5384. Also marked with Eagle #16.

The clasp holds securely. In very fine condition with only minor tarnish. The enameling is vibrant.

This is a spectacular vintage hand wrought sterling silver brooch by the well known Boston silversmith, Ella L. Cone. Looks like a surreal silhouette.

Measures 4 3/8" high and 1 5/8" at the widest. Roll over clasp holds securely. Marked Sterling, Hand ELC Made on the back. Has a little tarnish and minor surface scratches.

Reminds us of the surreal pieces by Paul Lobel and Ed Wiener.

Well made, fine quality. The best piece of jewelry by this artist that we have ever encountered.

A rare sterling silver and caged raw purple stone brooch by noted jeweler, Arthur King. Probably amethyst. Marked on the back, Sterling King. Measures 2 1/8" across and 2 1/8" tall. A vintage modernist sterling silver brooch by Hans Hansen, Denmark, most likely from the 1960s. We have not been able to find another example. Four layers of concentric ovals, slightly curling up at each end. Has some light oxidation between the layers for an interesting contrast.

Measures about 2 1/4" long and 5/8" wide.

A choice of 2 vintage three dimensional hand made sterling silver brooches, each with a pearl accent by Modernist Jeweler, Russell Secrest. May be purchased individually or as a pair.
