An unusual pair of sterling silver modernist earrings designed by Salvador Teran.

Marked Sterling, Mexico, and 109 for the style number. Looks like there is a part of the top of the 'S' from Salvador on one edge. Measure 1 1/2" long and 3/4" wide. Screw backs function properly. Depict highly stylized fish skeletons. Fine condition.

A pair of Taxco, Mexico Sterling Silver earrings with Tortoise Shell by William Spratling. The marks on these earrings date them to 1949-1956.

Measure 1" across. Marked on the back of one earring with the conjoined Script WS and 925.

Screw backs hold securely. Fine condition. Tortoise shell is a warm, honey brown color. Have some tarnish and minor scratches.

A well made, modernist sterling silver ring with inlaid coral and onyx. Etched inside with what looks like some initials and Trujillo. Measures about a 10 1/2. Front measures 1" by 5/8". A modernist pair of dangle earrings by Winifred Mason Chenet. According to published reports Winifred Mason Chenet was an African American woman hand crafting jewelry in Greenwich Village. She worked with and trained Art Smith, a well respected African American modernist jeweler. She believed that each piece should be unique and distinctive. A vintage modernist sterling silver ring embellished with 24K gold by the well known Japanese silversmith, Miye Matsukata, whose work was signed Janiye. She attended the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston, afterwards starting a workshop with other jewelers. This ring is in an abstract design, with layers of gold and silver, and contrasting textures and shapes. Measures about size 7.5. Marked on the inside Miye Janiye, Sterling 24K and 81. Excellent craftsmanship. Very unusual design.

An interesting pair of 830 Silver screw back earrings with rough cut amethyst quartz cabochons. Measure 1 1/8" long and 3/4" across. Screw backs hold securely. Marked 830S NIC on the back of each dangle. Each screw back is marked 830S. One screw back also has the stylized 'J' for Sylvsmidja of Norway. Interesting mixture of textures. Pretty purple color.

A vintage sterling silver abstract modernist ring from the shop of Walter Wright, a Los Angeles jeweler. Wright was an associate of Margaret De Patta and sold her work and other modernist jewelry. A five sided central design with three dimensional circles and bars coming off a blackened background. Approximately a size 10. Marked Walter Wright Sterling. Has some tarnish, a few scratches on the back of the band and a little wear to the black. Great example of mid-century modern studio jewelry.

Top measures 1 1/8" wide and 1 1/4" high. Marked with the hallmark for Sten and Laine, 925H for sterling, Town mark for Turku and T7 for 1972. Very nice condition.
