A sterling silver modernist brooch by Helen Scheier Adelman, (1909-1999), American Mid Century jeweler. This brooch depicts two antelope in thick polished sterling with a darker bumpy surface enamel background.

Measures 1 3/8" tall and 1 1/8" at the widest. Signed Adelman and Sterling on the back. Nice contrast between the darkened rough and shiny layers. Rollover clasp holds securely. Has some minor surface scratches.

Classic Adelman design.

A very unusual hand made copper necklace with a pendant depicting a stylized bird like creature. One of the wings is a bezel set dark purple toned stone. Lightly hammered curved links attach to a central abstract pendant. The connectors are curved and have little balls at each end.

The necklace measures approximately 24" around. Pendant measures 3" at the longest and 2 1/2" across including the curved hammered bar which surrounds the bird. Hook clasp holds securely.

A pair of vintage Mexican Sterling Silver screw back earrings in a Sigi Pineda modernist, whimsical bird design. Signed Cortes, Sterling, Mexico, and the number 8. Birds have great detail, wings and little feet. Measure 2"long and 3/4" across. Screw backs hold tightly. Wonderful condition. Very unusual!

A vintage modernist brooch by Johanna Van Ryn, whose pieces are difficult to find. This well made brooch is made of of three disks with ribbons flowing from each end. Marked Silver, Johanna Van Ryn and Mexico on the back. Measures 4 1/4" long and 3/4" across. Has an earlier rollover safety clasp that holds tightly. A Mid Century Modernist pair of screw back earrings in two layers of sterling silver by Peggy Miller, an American studio jeweler who worked in Baltimore in the 1950's -60's. These earrings measure 3/4" across one end and 5/8"across on the other end. Measure 7/8" high. Screw backs hold securely. Signed Peggy Miller Sterling on the back of each earring. Nice contrast between the darkened background and the top layer of sterling. Great mid century design.

A vintage sterling silver brooch with a high domed shaped light brown stone, (probably smoky topaz), cabochon by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta of Finland. This modernist brooch measures 2 1/4" across and 1" high. Reminiscent of Native American designs. Marked with Kauppi's anvil mark, Sterling and Finland. Has an earlier style trombone clasp which holds securely. Fine condition. Wonderful example of Scandinavian modernist jewelry.

A great modernist early necklace and bracelet set by Francisco Rebajes in heavy copper with coral colored cabochons. Reminds us of cactus with flowers. Necklace measures 15 1/5" long including the chain and hook. Stamped Rebajes on the back. The bracelet measures 6 1/2". Marked Rebajes twice on the back. Both pieces measure 7/8" wide. These pieces could be hooked together to form one longer necklace. Fine condition. Early, hard to find design.

A vintage sterling silver brooch by American Modernist jeweler, Ronald Hayes Pearson. Three dimensional sterling silver with oxidation and a 7mm pearl. Signed Pearson Sterling.
