This is a spectacular vintage hand wrought sterling silver brooch by the well known Boston silversmith, Ella L. Cone. Looks like a surreal silhouette.

Measures 4 3/8" high and 1 5/8" at the widest. Roll over clasp holds securely. Marked Sterling, Hand ELC Made on the back. Has a little tarnish and minor surface scratches.

Reminds us of the surreal pieces by Paul Lobel and Ed Wiener.

Well made, fine quality. The best piece of jewelry by this artist that we have ever encountered.

A sterling silver abstract brooch by the MCM jeweler and sculpter, Joseph Skinger, (1911-1967). He was active in Vermont in the 1950s and 60s, working primarily in silver. Known for his modernist 'Slalom' ring.

This brooch measures 2 1/8" long and 1" at the widest. Marked Sterling Skinger.

This could also be worn as a pendant with a chain or cord laced through the curled top as shown.

In fine condition. There is a very slight bend near the clasp, probably done during production. ...

A modernist sterling silver ring by Oscar Aaroe, (1905-1996), a jeweler and silversmith born in Denmark who apprenticed with Georg Jensen and had his store on Palm Springs, California. This ring feels Southwestern in design and was probably influenced by the Native American silversmiths in the area.

Has a bezel set dark green - almost black smooth stone. Measures size 9.

Marked O. Aaroe Handmade Sterling and Palm Springs, Calif. on the back.

A wonderful Danish Skonvirke sterling silver brooch signed SJ for S. L. Jacobsen. Jacobsen was a silversmith who collaborated with Evald Nielsen, a well known jewelry designer known for his Skonvirke designs. Measures 2 1/2" long and 2" at the widest. Has two green stone cabochons. Marked 830S SJ 830S on the back. Beautiful Arts and Crafts design. Has an older 'C' clasp. Very nice condition, one minor ding near the edge of the top piece. Quality piece. Beautiful classic Danish design.

An outstanding vintage modernist sterling silver necklace and earrings by studio jeweler, Fridl Blumenthal. Signed with her Tulip mark on the necklace and FRIDL, Sterling, Tulip, and the number 32 on each earring. The findings on the earrings are also marked sterling. A sterling silver with 18K gold overlay cut out cuff bracelet in the style of Graziella Laffi. Signed Industria Peruana, JVC for the artisan, 925 and 18K. Measures 6" around with an additional 1 3/4" opening. 1 3/4" at the widest. Very nice condition, some very minor tarnish and surface scratches. Well made and heavy. Striking design!

A wonderful hammered sterling silver neck ring with a large pendant of a fish in mosaics. Has an iridescent eye. Neck ring is approximately 16 1/2" around. Hard to measure due to the curvature of the links. Lightly hammered, very nice work. Pendant measures about 4 1/2" long and 1 1/4" at the widest. Hook closure. Great condition, silver has a warm patina. Vibrant colors. Eye catching piece!

An iconic pair of sterling silver earrings by Frank Miraglia, based on a famous Ed Wiener design. Originally based on a photograph of the well known modernist dancer and choreographer, Martha Graham.

Earrings measure 1" tall and 3/4" across. Signed F. Miraglia N.Y. Sterling. Screw part is also signed Sterling. Screw backs work fine and hold tightly. Have a minor amount of tarnish.

A vintage sterling silver pendant with a teardrop Australian opal cabochon on a lightly hand hammered link chain. Pendant measures 2" long and 1" across. Chain measures about 20" long. Double hook closure. Has some minor areas of tarnish. Nice work by a talented artisan.

A fine, unusual sterling silver and pearl two layered brooch in an abstract design. Inside layer has a darkened patina. Has three small pearls attached to the inside. Curved three dimensional design. Measures 2 3/8" across and 1" wide. Has a rollover clasp that holds securely. Has a cutout mark on the back that may indicate the maker, but we do not recognize it. Has a little tarnish. Well constructed, interesting design.

An amazing modernist sterling silver ring with an central agate cabochon by Jens Peter Clausen Guðjónsson of Iceland. Signed JENS 925S. Measures about a size 7- 7.5. The top sits 1" high and measures about 3/4" across. Has an interesting texture on the sides. Heavy sterling. Really stands out! Great example of Scandinavian modernist design.

A modernist sterling silver brooch with a large raw amethyst stone by Charles H. Cole who signed his work with a face hallmark. The facial features spell out his last name. Also signed Sterling. Active 1930s-50s. Measures 1 3/4" long and 1 1/4" wide. Has a rollover safety clasp that holds tightly. Hand made piece. Pretty purple color.

A vintage sterling silver modernist pendant and necklace by Hans Sten and Karl Laine from Sten and Laine in Finland. Pendant reminds us of an abstract spiderweb. Pendant measures 3 1/8" long to the top of the bale and 2 1/8" at the widest. Chain is attached at the bale and closes with a spring clasp that holds tightly. Chain measures about 17" around. Marked on the bale with the hallmark for Sten and Laine, 925H for sterling, Town mark for Turku and T7 for 1972. Very nice condition. Great...

A large copper, brass and silver cuff bracelet from Casa Maya with two large stylized birds. Measures about 6" around with an opening of 1 1/4" and 2 1/2" tall. In nice condition, has some minor surface scratches. A little out of round, some wear to the edges and some tarnish. Signed Maya Mexico. Looks striking on!

A bold, modernist solid sterling silver ring by the noted Danish jewelry designer, Jens Asby. Measures between a 6.5 and 7. Front measures 5/8" wide and 1" across. Marked with the JA in a shield, Denmark, Hand Made and 925S. Has a few minor dings and surface scratches. Feels like you are wearing something special when you have it on! Great design.

Pendant measures 2 1/2" high and 2 1/4" across. Chain measures 19 " long and has a spring clasp that closes securely. Dark patina, cool design.
