An early cross brooch in Sterling Silver with Coral, Amethyst and Mother of Pearl by Matilde Poulat. Measures 1 5/8" across and 1 7/8" tall. Marked MATL, 925 and also has an etched 'E'. Has a squiggle of silver attached to the bottom by two rings. Amethyst stone is faceted. Has a rollover safety clasp that holds tightly. Has a little tarnish. Very unusual combination of stones.

Marked with the crossed jewelers bench tools maker's hallmark, 830S for the silver standard and the initials N.M. Measures 2 1/4" across and 2 1/4" high. Has an early 'C' clasp which holds securely. A rare modernist sterling silver brooch by the noted jewelry teacher and designer, Adda Husted-Andersen. Husted-Andersen taught in NYC at the Craft Student's League and her work was exhibited as part of the 1946 landmark exhibition, "Modern Jewelry Design" at the Museum of Modern Art. This brooch is made from a thick curved piece of sterling silver. Measures about 1 3/8" across. Marked on the back Sterling and with the stylized AHA hallmark. In very fine condition, warm patina. Has some tarnish....

A whimsical sterling silver brooch depicting a man playing the maracas by Los Castillo. Marked Made in Mexico, Los Castillo Taxco around Eagle 15, and design # 102. Measures 2" across and 1 7/8" tall. Has a rollover clasp that holds tightly. Very nice condition, some minor scratches to the surface and tarnish. A tiny ding to the top of the higher maraca. Can't be seen from the front. Great modernist design!

He and his wife Phyllis had a jewelry shop in Provincetown where they created hand made pieces. This piece has two contrasting textured surface areas for an interesting effect. Measures 1 5/8" across and 1 3/8" high. Marked I. Sklar. Rollover safety closure holds securely. Has some tarnish and minor surface scratches. Great modernist piece piece from a talented silversmith.
