A pair of vintage Mexican Sterling Silver screw back earrings by Sigi Pineda in a design that looks like hands holding the amethyst cabochons.
Signed Sterling Made in Mexico and design number 257 on the back of one earring, and Plateros Taxco with Eagle #3 mark on the back of the other. Plateros was the first name of Sigi's shop in 1952. He eventually renamed it Sigi. They are mirror images and frame the face when worn.
Measure 1 7/8" long and 1/2" at the widest. Screw backs hold securely.
Fine condition, have a little tarnish. One amethyst has some roughness to the front, but because of where it is, we think it may be original.
