A rare brooch and earrings set by noted Sausalito Mid 20th century jeweler, Loyola Fourtane. She and her husband were jewelers and artists and worked from their houseboat in Sausalito, California from the 1930's -50's.
This set is made of sterling silver with copper and brass embellishments and what look like carnelian cabochons.
Brooch measures 2 1/2" across and 2 1/4" high. Has a rollover clasp that holds securely. Etched on the back 'Loyola Fourtane, SS Lassen, (which was the name of their boat), and Sausalito, California'.
The clip earrings measure 1" across and 1" high. Both clips are marked sterling, one on the back and one on the side. The two clips are not an exact match. The springs are tight and hold securely. The earrings are signed Loyola Fourtane on the backs.
The set is in fine condition with some tarnish.
Wonderful example of Mid Century Modern jewelry.
