A modernist brooch with a prong set amethyst frog on a stylized sterling silver leaf by noted Mexican silversmith, Carmen Beckmann. The leaf has raised veins contrasting with a smooth surface.
This piece is marked Sterling Beckmann and Mexico on the back.
It measures 3" long and 2" at the widest. Has an rollover safety clasp that holds securely.
This brooch is well constructed with layers of sterling. Love the three dimensional quality of the frog. Amethyst is in fine condition. Has some minor surface scratches and a little tarnish. Nice warm patina.
Stand-out unique design. Pre eagle mark.
