A modernist sterling silver hand wrought cuff bracelet by Lore Garrick, (1920-2013) in a streamlined layered style. Lore Garrick made hand crafted jewelry in NYC in the 1950s. Known as 'Mother Lore' because her son became Tamal Krishna Goswami, she made the first pieces of jewelry for the Hare Krishna movement in Los Angeles.
This bracelet is constructed of two layers of sterling with a spiral on the thick curved wire layer. The artist purposefully oxidized the area under the wire for a contrasting effect. Has a slightly brushed finished.
Measures 5 1/2" around with an opening of 1". Fits me comfortably and I have an average wrist. Could be adjusted slightly if needed.
Marked LORE Sterling on the inside of one end. Has some tarnish and minor surface scratches.
Fine example of the Wearable Art Movement.
