A vintage modernist sterling silver brooch by Anton Michelsen, from Denmark. This three dimensional brooch has a raised 'sun' in the center surrounded by 7 stars.
Measures 2 5/8" across and 2 5/8" high. Weighs 20 gr. The surfaces of the stars and the center of the sun have a light gold wash for an interesting effect.
Marked with the AM under a crown hallmark of the silversmith and Sterling Denmark.
Has a rollover safety clasp that holds securely. Silver has a warm patina. The brooch has a few very minor surface scratches and a little tarnish.
Fine example of Scandinavian mid century jewelry.
