Rare and impressive glass bottle (Nootka or Makah, Northwest Coast)covered with a fine weave of twined bear grass over cedar bark. Solid bands alternating with open lattice work. Middle band with polychrome (aniline dyes) figures of whale and eagle, and on the other side hunting scene with boat and flying sea bird. 1890-1900 period. Almost 12" high. In excellent condition. This bottle may have had a lid at some point.

Pre Columbian Colima (Western Mexico) vessel in the form of a seated male figure. 300BC to 300AD. This sculpture/vessel measures 10 1/4" in height, 6 1/2" across, and is 6" deep. Burnished reddish brown terracotta, with a dark fire bloom behind the right ear. A serene, meditative expression appears to have been the intent of the artist. Provenance: from an important collection of Pre-Columbian artifacts in Charlotte, NC.

Large ritual Pre-Columbian incensario, Mixtec-Zapotec, West Mexico, presumably representing a corn god. Pre 900 AD. 15" high, 17" deep. This type of ritual object is quite rare. Incensarios were used in various cultures of ancient Mexico, and throughout Mesoamerica, for offerings of burning incense during religious and other ceremonial rituals.
