Large original oil painting on masonite panel by Robert (Bob) Matthew Freimark (American, 1922-2010) in its original artist constructed solid walnut frame. This painting is in beautiful condition. It measures 36" by 48" (slightly more in its frame), is signed with the artist's distinctive early signature l.r. and is titled "View of Sea". Robert Freimark is an important American artist and educator. Originally from Ohio, he studied at the Toledo Museum of Art and the University of Toledo with Hal Lotterman and Harvey Littleton; also at Cranbrook with Eliel Saarinen and Carl Milles; and with Israel Abramofsky and Max Weber. Freimark's works are in the permanent collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, PAFA, the British Museum, the Library of Congress, the Seattle Art Museum, the LA County Art Institute, the National Gallery in Prague, to name but a few.
