About Us
Stephanie LeVanda Vintage Couture Jewelry began as an adjunct to my career as a costume designer & stylist. Having entree to designers & their representatives, as well as a love of flea marketing, I amassed a large collection of jewelry for both personal and professional use. My jewelry career began with the first Los Angeles Modernism Show (in 1989) when I helped some friends with their furniture booth and brought some of my pieces to sell. I continued to sell with them for a few years & then when injury ended my design career, I got my own booth at the Modernism show, where I continued to sell until 2010. I also sold privately, at several pop-up venues & at a cooperative called The Collection until it closed in early 2015. In May, 2014, I decided to join the internet and we began selling on both Facebook and Instagram. We have joined Trocadero to expand our online presence. Besides my love of vintage Couture and Runway jewelry, I have always loved Mexican sterling, American and Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern and witty plastic jewelry. Our focus tends to be from the mid to latter part of the 20th Century, but Edwardian bracelets & Art Deco earrings find their way into the collection. Vintage Bakelite occasionally makes an appearance, as well. We strive to find interesting jewelry and accessories My connections in Europe continue and I receive signed designer pieces on a regular basis. We also have a group of designers and stylists who make their collections available to us.
