This iconic, rare black lacquer Elsa Peretti buckle was done early in her career as a jewelry designer. We're not sure if it was done for Tiffany & Co, or earlier when she was designing jewelry for Halston.
The buckle measures 3 1/2" (9.4cm) across at the widest point and from the top curve to the point.
It comes with the original leather belt which is 44 1/2" (114 cm) long, not including the part that folds over to the keeper button, which is sterling silver. This is also included. The belt is 5/8" (2 cm) wide.
American design c1975.
It is in excellent vintage condition.
