10K Ostby and Barton Ring embellished with a lovely raised 2 color gold flower and leaf along the sides and an octagonally shaped mesmerizing solitaire spinel that looks like a clear blue green, depending on the light. Ostby and Barton were jewelry manufacturers out of Providence, RI. The business was started in the late 1879, shortly after becoming one of the largest ring manufacturers in the world. People easily recognized the well-known “O-B” stamp on their rings. The underside of our ring is hallmarked with the requisite OB stamp which includes the hallmark 10K and the maltese cross. According to Collector's Weekly, the maltese cross indicates the ring was one of Englehart Ostby's creations, who died aboard the Titantic in 1912. "Color, line, contour and embellishment" was the firm's motto, and we think this is fitting to describe this ring. The two tone yellow gold embellishments on the silver band means that this ring blends well with either gold or silver jewelry. The ring is a size 5 ½.
