This Barnraising Log Cabin is most unusual because of the embroidered names throughout. They are done in a variety of handwritings. It is possible this was a fundraising quilt but more likely a friendship gift of some type. The date 1900 is embroidered on the border along with flowers and leaves. The border is nicely cable quilted with wreaths in the corners. The front is wool with a cotton backing. Pristine condition; measurements are 66" x 78". The names as well as the style of quilting lead me to believe it was made in Maryland or Pennsylvania.
