This Birds in the Air quilt virtually screams of its Lebanon County, Pennsylvania origin. The yellow background is a color most often associated with that area.
The quilt is in excellent condition with the exception of brown spots in four triangles clustered in one area. They are visible in the first thumbnail photo.
Sewn to the back is a label saying that the maker was Dillie Houser Miller from Lebanon County. She was most likely Adeline Houser Miller (1850-1918), from Schaefferstown.
The quilt was made circa 1880. Measurements are 76" x 88". The interior is quilted in a diamonds pattern and cable in the border. Corner blocks created as an extension of the sawtooth border are an especially nice feature.
