The needlework is exceptionally fine on this Broderie Perse chintz center medallion quilt. The applique is delicately stitched, although it is interesting to note that the maker took a slight shortcut by not precisely outlining the cut out of the chintz motifs. Other than that, she spared no effort. The quilting is of the the best quality. Stitches are tiny and abundant. It is filled with flowers; leaves; wreaths and pineapples in the corners.
The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in excellent condition. There is some discoloration on the back but it does not show through on the front. Measurements are 90 inches square, a very manageable size for a quilt of this type.
