This is a stipple engraved hand colored aquatint from the work The Military Costume of Turkey, read more about this work on our Specialties Page. This print is signed "J. H. Clark" - John Heaviside Clark, engraver (fl. 1789-1830). The paper is watermarked "J WHATMAN 1820" located on the binding edge. Includes original text page and photocopy of the title page(s).


CONDITION
Very good overall. Binding holes right side edge. Small amounts of foxing. Small thin spot in the paper located upper right area. There are a few very small marks and or ink spots (one near left-side foot, see enlargement #2.) Off-set staining located on the text page. There is a pressure line near the top that expands from the left edge to the right edge, does not show when photographed (similar to a 'plate mark' or 'impression.')
