Henry Turner Bailey was an artist, printmaker, teacher and writer. Born in North Scitiuate, Massachusetts, Bailey attended the Massachusetts Normal Art School and studied in Boston and Europe before settling in Cleveland, Ohio. Bailey was Dean of the Cleveland School of Art in 1917 and the John Huntington Polytechnic Institute also in Cleveland. He exhibited at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco in 1915. He was a member of the American Federation of Arts as well as the Cleveland Art Association. He was the author of “Photography of Fine Art” and “Symbolism for Artists”. His work is in the Vanderpoel Collection in Chicago, and he is listed in Falk, “Who Was Who in American Art”
