This is a magnificent repousse silver piece, Mexico City, ca. 1930s. This vintage Mexican silver piece is unmarked, but bears a certain hallmark that my research has me believing is that of Matilde Poulat’s earliest work. A beautiful design, equally beautiful in its silver execution. The eye is adorned with a high domed turquoise cabochon. The early straight pin catch is in fine vintage condition, as is the piece more generally. A delightful joyful piece to wear or to place on a simple, small scale painters easel, and enjoy as an object d’art treasure on your nightstand or desk. Very special.
