MINGEI MADARA-GLAZED TEAPOT
Massive mingei teapot with dynamic madara glaze, from folk kiln in Kyushu region (though unidentified specifically), circa Edo-Meiji period.
Very mingei, and a very scarce mingei art piece as highly recommended for the large size and such splendid glaze expression as its unique presence,
though some cracks and chips (including at spout) as expected, and damage of 'shishi'-shaped knob and cramp-restoration at lid as seen. (Not recommended for the actual use.)
Size: approx. Height 27.5cm (10.82in), Width 16cm (6.29in), Depth 22.5cm (8.85in)
Primary material: Ceramic
