Humorous and warmhearted wood carving mask of 'Otafuku' (=Okame) as an iconic face of homely and cheery Japanese woman who brings many happiness. Showa period, early 20th century. Japan. Anonymous art piece, but probably made by a certain noh mask craftsman. Generally fine condition as is with some stains and aged deterioration. approx. 21 x 13.5 x 7.5cm (8.26 x 5.31 x 2.95in)
