OMIKUJI

Old type of Japanese 'omikuji' (wooden box with 94 pieces of fortune bamboo sticks with number and oracle written on) to shake and flip upside down to slip a stick out used at Shinto shrine or Buddhist temple. (*But the box is broken as seen.). Late 19th - early 20th century. From the best luck, 'daikichi', 'kichi', 'shokichi', 'suekichi', and 'kyo' is written in Indian ink on each stick.

Box: approx. H 21cm (8.26in), Stick: approx. L 11-13cm (4.33-5.11in)
