Wooden confectionery molds with such unique carvings of four pairs of monkey palanquin bearers which is the scene originated from a Japanese nursery song, Osaru-no-kagoya (Monkey palanquin bearers). Showa period, 20th century, Japan. approx. 34.8 x 7.2 x 4.7cm (13.70 x 2.83 x 1.85in). Some stains and warp due to aging as is.
