ORIGIN: Southern New Mexico
AGE: Ca. 1000 A. D. - 1250 A.D.
A simple and clean example of a Mimbres Classic Phase geometric bowl measuring 9" in diameter by 4" in height. The bowl is intact and never broken. The interior design elements consist of four stylized fish tails suspended from the rim and three "floating eyes". If you study the large white element it could represent a flower. There are three rows of fine lines circling the upper rim. There has been very minor paint enhancement to the center white area of the bowl where it was worn from ancient usage. A fine addition to any collection at a more than fair price. The bowl comes from private property and is legal for private ownership under all current State and Federal Laws.
