This finely designed necklace is comprised of a Maya ear spool, nose plug, and carnelian and jade beads to form the center pendant (Ca. 100 - 860 A.D.) mixed with old Navajo sterling silver elongated hollow beads to act as spacers and make the piece light and wearable. It has been professionally strung to a 16" wearable length. It is perfect for formal or casual wear and designed for adornment as well as practicality. An excellent use of treasures from ancient Mexico combined with fine hand made silver beads from The American Southwest. It is meant to be used as adornment rather than just gathering dust on a shelf although it would be outstanding mounted in a lucite shadow box.
