DESCRIPTION: An exceptional example of the type. The artwork is beautifully drawn and carefully balanced. The vessel has a light tan background decorated in colors of black, dark red, and cinnamon brown. The many geometric designs include triangles, three quarter circles, excellent fine line work, elongated triangles circling the upper interior, hanging and upright stepped pyramids enclosing stepped lines,and a chain of interlocking rectangular scrolls circling the upper exterior rim. The interior flared rim is decoratedby a concentric circle of elongated black triangles. The bowl was found in several large shards and has been professionally cleaned with the crack lines filled over. It is a striking and beautiful display piece created by a very talented ancient potter.
