SIZE: 11 1/2" in height by 6" in width DESCRIPTION: A hollow redware pottery male figure seated on a two legged bench. His right hand is raised to his mouth...he is possibly injesting a ceremonial substance. His left hand is resting on his knee. He has a nose ring and multiple ear ornaments. He has fine detailed incised hair with a long strand hanging down his back. There are remnants of the original black paint evident on the striping on his rear shoulder and his upper left chest. Very strong mineral deposits attest to his great antiquity. In excellent condition. PROVENANCE: A New York Gallery Auction.
