Description: A seated bulbous red burnished Colima male figure. He measures 5” in height by 3 1/2” in width by 3 3/4” in depth. He is in a seated position with sinuous tubular arms raised and resting on his shoulders. He is ornamented with a round helmet headpiece, ear ornaments, and deeply incised designs below his knees. He has deeply hollowed out eyes and mouth which give his face great character. He appears slightly surprised but unafraid. This is an unusual and intriguing Colima pottery shape. He has numerous mineral formations attesting to his great antiquity. A fine addition to any eclectic collection.
