A visually stunning work of Mimbres ceramic art from Southern New Mexico dating Ca. 1000 - 1250 A.D.
This fine bowl measures 8” in diameter and combines a plethora of Mimbres geometric designs including enclosed vertical and horizontal fine line perfectly drawn elements, narrow zig-zagged stepped panels, solid and hatched hanging triangles, and narrow slanted quadrangles. The clever use of the elements combined with a large white center section brings the bowl to life and gives it a visually spinning feeling as opposed to a static impression. The bowl has been reassembled from several large original shards with the crack lines professionally covered over. The bowl comes from a private ranch with the permission of the owner and is legal for private ownership under all current Federal and State laws. A certificate of authenticity will be provided upon purchase.
