A set of 10 turned wood serving plates decorated with the full moon rising over a pine tree on wiped on lacquer finish revealing a fine straight grain enclosed in a wooden box titled Meiji 3 (1870) and titled simply Kashizara (sweets dish). The work is performed with dark lacquer highlighted with flakes of gold, the moon of silver powder. Each is 12.5 cm (5 inches) diameter and in excellent condition.
