Beautifully executed craftsmanship is displayed in this rare carved gothic revival oak lift seat bench, features four deep relief panels displaying noble knights. Made in Belgium this fine piece includes carved lions holding shields as bench arm supports and gothic finials. Seat is undergoing damage repair. Circa 1850s. 61" w. X 59" h. X 20" d.

This is truly a special one of a kind exquisite piece that demonstrates unique uncommon craftsmanship and artistry. Note the ingenious way the Master craftsman designed and executed the Griffin’s front foot becomes the front foot of the chair and the Griffin back foot becomes the back foot of the chair on each side of the chair (see photo side view)...
